New Poll Shows Pluarality of Ohioans Surveyed Like Medicaid Expansion Proposal

The latest Quinnipiac University poll shows 48 percent of Ohio voters agree with Republican Governor Kasich’s plan to expand Medicaid in the buckeye state while 42 percent oppose the idea. 

But when the poll is broken down into party affiliations, Democrats support it 71 percent to 22 percent and Independents support it 48 to 43 percent.

Poll: Ohio Gov. Approval Best Since Taking Office

A new poll finds that Gov. John Kasich's job approval rating is its highest since taking office two years ago.

It's also the first time his approval rating has been above 50 percent.

The poll released Thursday by Quinnipiac University in Connecticut shows 53 percent of Ohioans give Kasich a passing grade while 32 percent disapprove of his performance.

Just a year ago, his approval rating with was under 40 percent.

New Poll Shows Ohioans Might Not Be Ready to Legalize Pot or Allow Gay Marriage

There might be support for legalizing marijuana and allowing gay marriage in some states but a new poll shows both issues might lose if Ohio voters weighed in right now. 

Just last week, a Quinnpiac University National poll showed support for legalizing marijuana by a margin of 51 to 44 percent.  But a new Quinnipiac University Poll of Ohioans shows the issue is tied here in the buckeye state at 47 percent.
