Performing under the name BJSR, Ben Rivet makes a return visit to Kaleidoscope to talk about his recent musical endeavors which include Axed and Voxed, a remix of his Axe and Vox EP by various producers and collaborators including Lauren Eylise.
Paul Larkowski and Brett Nagafuchi were playing together in Kuan when they met Ed Ricart at a shared practice space in Boston. Ricart filled in on bass for one of Kuan's tours and soon decided to relocate to Yellow Springs to start Hyrrokkin with Larkowski and Nagafuchi. Hyrrokkin has been performing and touring together for about 7 months. They'll perform at One Eyed Jacks on March 9th will fellow Yellow Springs band, Blue Moon Soup.
The 8 members of Jah Soul combine soul, funk and rock and roll into their own unique, danceable sound. The group comes from a diverse musical background and has several live shows coming up in the Miami Valley. Here they talk about their musical roots and plans for this year with Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt and perform several live songs.

On February 10, 2012, Rev Cool celebrated 30 years on the air at WYSO during a special edition of Around the Fringe. Rev was joined in the studio by Andy Valeri, Niki Dakota and a numerous local musicians. Folk trio Brother Sun brings a gospel and country tinged performance to Excursions.
Joe Jencks, Pat Wictor and Greg Greenway comprise Brother Sun, a folk trio boasting rich instrumentation and jarring three-part harmonies. Each a touring solo artist in his own right, the members of the group joined together in 2010 after a mutual festival performance. The group took off, spending much of 2011 touring heavily in support of their self-titled debut album.
