Clark County Board of Developmental Disabilities Seeks Levy Approval

The Clark County Board of Developmental Disabilities is asking voters to approve an 8-year, additional levy on Election Day.

The board had the same issue rejected last November. In 2012, voters handed the board its first levy defeat since 1967.

"If we are unsuccessful in passing our levy, we will have to cut some of the folks that we currently are serving," says Jennifer Rousculp, the Board Superintendent. She says cuts would hit home care services and self-sufficiency programs for the developmentally disabled.

Clark County Selected As One Of Six Sites To Implement Employment First

Last year, Governor John Kasich signed into law the Employment First Initiative. The legislation directed government agencies serving the developmentally disabled to combine resources and provide them with more employment opportunities.

This year, all 88 Ohio counties to land one of six opportunities to get Employment First off the ground. Clark County was granted one of those slots. Superintendent of Clark County's Developmental Disabilities Board, Jennifer Rousculp, believes Employment First will help the board step up more of what they're doing.

Issue 25 a Must for Clark County Disabilities Board

Clark County Disabilities Board Superintendent Jennifer Rousculp

Clark County Voters will be asked to approve Issue 25 on November 6. The Developmental Disabilities Board is seeking approval of a new, 1.75-mill, eight year levy.
