What's Great in Dayton: November 16 - 22, 2012

Dayton International Peace Museum

The Dayton International Peace Museum has two events on Sunday.  Their new exhibition, "Peacemakers: Women of Liberia," will open at 12:30 p.m.  It features the work of 2 of our 2012 Nobel Peace Prize laureates and other Liberian women who came together to end Liberia's civil wars.

And the film In the Land of Blood and Honey will be screened by The Neon Movies, at 3 p.m. in partnership with the Peace Museum.

New Ohio Guide: Huffman Prairie

Huffman prairie does not look like much at first. There are no museums or monuments in sight, not many buildings either. In fact, it looks pretty much like a prairie. But this place oozes history in a way few places can. This is where powered flight became practical, where the plane could be controlled and flights didn’t end with faces full of dirt anymore. Huffman is also part of the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Park and here we meet ranger Bob Peterson.
