Romney Plans Ohio Stop Despite Storm

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is going ahead with a planned stop in Kettering, but the campaign says the focus will be on helping victims of Superstorm Sandy.

The event at Fairmont High School in Kettering is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.

A Romney spokeswoman said the event will be "a disaster relief event where Gov. Romney may make brief remarks." Another Romney event in Lima today has been canceled.

VP Candidate Paul Ryan Speaks at Young's Dairy

Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan made his way to the Miami Valley area over the weekend. The Wisconsin senator stopped just outside of Yellow Springs at Young's Jersey Dairy to speak.

Ryan's message to those who braved the cold and windy day centered on the economy, small business owners and foreign policy.

US Senate Candidates Have Final Debate in Southeast Ohio

The candidates in Ohio's U.S. Senate race are preparing to meet in the final debate of their heated campaign.

Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown and GOP state Treasurer Josh Mandel face off again Thursday evening in a Cincinnati TV studio. In Columbus last week, Mandel called Brown a liar, and Brown said the Republican can't be trusted.

Mandel has depicted the 59-year-old veteran Democrat as a career Washington politician, while Brown has described his 35-year-old challenger as opportunistic and more concerned about his next office than doing the job in the one he has.

Portman Objects to the President's Auto Industry Comments

Ohio's Republican senator says President Barack Obama is distorting Republican Mitt Romney's position on the auto industry bailout, a key issue in the pivotal state.

Sen. Rob Portman says President Obama’s comments have been "reckless and irresponsible."  Portman particularly objected to the president’s speech in Dayton , on Tuesday in which he said there might not still be an American auto industry if Romney had been president.
