As self-professed music nerds, the eight members of Customer Service and the Gem City Horns (including former WYSO intern Mike Jones) formed the band for an ArtStreet project at the University of Dayton.  The band visited the WYSO studios to perform live, and spoke with Niki Dakota about forming the band, preparing to record an album and upcoming performances.

Customer Service and the Gem City Horns will perform at the Downtown Dayton Revival Music Festival, September 8 and 9 in downtown Dayton.

This weekend is The Great Backyard Bird Count when bird watchers of all ages are counting birds. They are creating a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent. Anyone can participate and it takes as little as 15 minutes on one day…It’s free, fun, and easy—and it helps the birds.

Free Shakespeare is back in action this summer. They hit a variety of stages last summer and were well received. So they're doing it again with performances at the Yellow Springs Antioch Amphitheater, Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark in July, and in August they'll perform at Newcom Founders Park and at the University of Dayton's ArtStreet.
