Since 1972, WYSO has been providing bluegrass, folk and acoustic music during Rise When the Rooster Crows to greater Dayton, Ohio listeners.  Dayton, Ohio, and the WYSO listening area has always been a hotbed of music, due largely to the number of Appalachian families who migrated to this area’s industrial employment and brought their music with them. "Rise" honors that heritage and expands the scope to include Bluegrass cousins, nieces, nephews and distant relatives. You never know what you'll hear on Rise, but it will be in the top of its class!
