Every Wednesday night Juliet Fromholt talks to musicians, filmmakers, and artists from the Miami Valley and beyond and more often than not, you're treated to a set of music performed live in the WYSO studios.  You'll also hear some of the best music from emerging artists and old favorites from around the world.

Cricketbows Continue to Chart Far Out Musical Course

The members of Cricketbows return to the WYSO studios after a debut performance on Kaleidoscope nearly a year ago.  The band perform a special acoustic set and talk with host Juliet Fromholt about collaboration, upcoming gigs, honing their psychedelic sound as a group.

Cricketbows will perform at the Oregon Express on Saturday, March 29th.

Telephone Magazine Celebrates 1st Birthday With Night of Music

Telephone Magazine, a biweekly local arts and culture magazine, will celebrate its first anniversary on March 29th.  Magazine staff and community members will mark the event with a night of art and music at the Old Yellow Cab building in downtown Dayton.  Telephone publisher Brian Johnston and musicians Yheti and Grand Mammoth visited the WYSO studios ahead of the event and spoke with Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt about the magazine's first year and the upcoming celebration.

Daniel Dye & The Miller Road Band Release Blinded Again

Daniel Dye, Carrie Miller, Andrew Miller and Thomas Miller, known collectively as Daniel Dye & The Miller Road recently completed Blinded Again, a new full length album incorporates newer material as well many songs the band has been performing live for years.  The band returned to the WYSO studios for live set on Kaleidoscope and spoke with host Juliet Fromholt about the recording process, upcoming live performances and the band's ever evolving musical process.

Starving In the Belly of the Whale Embarks On Spring Tour

Starving in the Belly of the Whale

After last year's release, The Foolish Fellow, Starving the in the Belly of the Whale has a revamped lineup and preparing for a year of touring and recording as a trio.  In the meantime, the band released a cover of Joanna Newsome's "The Book of Right On," which they performed live on the air on a recent visit to the WYSO studios.

Starving in the Belly of the Whale will be on tour March 27 - April 6th.

Raggedy Edge Live on Kaleidoscope

Lynn Perdzock and Bob Farley were both solo performers when they met at an open mic night and began to entertain the idea of a collaboration.  Now the duo perform under the name Raggedy Edge, combining musical sensibilities.  Perdzock and Farley visited the WYSO studios for a live performance on Kaleidoscope and talked about writing and recording together.

Raggedy Edge will perform on Friday, March 14 at the Belhop Cafe in Bellbrook and Saturday, March 15 at Spinoza's.
