Every Wednesday night Juliet Fromholt talks to musicians, filmmakers, and artists from the Miami Valley and beyond and more often than not, you're treated to a set of music performed live in the WYSO studios.  You'll also hear some of the best music from emerging artists and old favorites from around the world.

Mieka Pauley Live on Kaleidoscope

When embarking on her new album, The Science of Making Choices, Mieka Pauley turned to fan-funding to support the project and says that having her fans follow the progress of the album helped motivate her throughout the process.  Pauley spoke with Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt about her writing process, finding ways to preserve her live sound during the recording process and why she enjoys being on the road.

Mieka Pauley will perform at Ghostlight Coffee in Dayton on September 12 at 8pm.

September 14 marks Urban Nights in downtown Dayton and the unveiling of the You Are Here project at Courthouse Square.  The next day, the Blue Sky Project will celebrate it's final exhibition of the summer entitled "Creative Surprises."  Peter Benkendorf and Terry Welker visit the WYSO studios to discuss these two artistic endeavors, their origins and what you'll be able to experience on September 14 and 15 in downtown Dayton.

Sam Salazer on Wheels' New Album

Wheels

Community Voices producer Alan Staiger speaks with Sam Salazar from Yellow Springs band Wheels following their CD release show at Canal Street Tavern for Big Feeling.  The new album adds keyboards and a bit of percussion to the band's string-based lineup and was funded entirely by a Kickstarter campaign. 

Wheels will perform as part of the Downtown Dayton Revival Music Festival, September 8th and 9th in downtown Dayton.

Good English Live on Kaleidoscope

Since the release of their debut EP, Take Control, the members of Good English have stayed busy performing in the Dayton area.  After a brief summer hiatus, the band is back in action writing new material for a forthcoming LP and preparing for two upcoming festival performances.  Elizabeth, Celia and Leslie Rasmussen return to the WYSO studios joined by new guitar player, Johnathan Seidl to perform live and talk about their upcoming plans.

Live on Kaleidoscope: The Half Shebang

Kevin Milner of the Half Shebang

Kevin Milner makes a return visit to the WYSO studios with a project he's calling the Half Shebang.  It's a name for his various collaborations with other musicians, including Linsey Rogers, a violinist and singer who performed with him on the air.  The duo discuss how their musical backgrounds have made working together fairly easy in a short amount of time as well future plans for live shows and recordings.

The Half Shebang will perform on August 25th at Tipp City's HogJam.
