WYSO Weekend: July 10, 2016

WYSO Weekend

On this week's edition of WYSO Weekend: April Laissle talks with Antioch University officials about the school’s restructuring, we’ll bring you an interview with Dayton History about some upcoming summer programs, Poor Will’s Almanack and more.  Full details below.

  • If you have an Ohio driver’s license but are not registered to vote, you should be getting something in your mailbox soon from Ohio’s elections chief. Ohio Public Radio’s Jo Ingles reports.
  • Over the past few years, Antioch University has undergone several changes, starting with its separation from Antioch College in 2009. The most recent has been the university system’s decision to dismiss the presidents of each of its five campuses nationwide and eliminate all campus boards of trustees. Each individual campus will now be primarily overseen by a provost.  The larger system will now be managed by the the Antioch University Board of Governors and Interim Chancellor Bill Groves. WYSO’s April Laissle sat down with Groves to discuss what prompted the restructuring and the university system’s plans to move forward.
  • Jerry Kenney paid a visit to Carillon Historical Park to find out about some family friendly vents that are coming up. Last week he spoke to Alex Heckman - Director of education and museum operations for Dayton History.
  • Poor Will’s Almanack
  • Music and conversation with local jazz trio Triad.
