Wright Library Launches Election 2016 Oral History Project

Ed Davis

Wright Memorial Public Library is inviting local residents to share their thoughts and reactions to the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election in an oral history project in the next week.

To get the details, WYSO's Jerry Kenney spoke with the Wright Library's Robyn Case, who’s leading the project.

In a released statement, Research Librarian Robyn Case said “Americans have been through a lot during this long, contentious election cycle. Libraries foster freedom of ideas and community involvement, so this is Wright Library’s way of giving people a chance to pause and reflect on things, as we collect a record of the reactions from right here in our community.”

Those interested in participating in the project should contact the library, where "a librarian will audio record your impressions and reactions to be compiled with other community voices and shared on our website at a later date."

The library offers several ways to get involved. Residents can sign up at the library's research desk by calling (937) 294-7171, emailing reference@wrightlibrary.org or stopping by Wright Library.

The project will continue through Friday, Nov. 11.
