What's Great in Dayton: October 7 - 13, 2016

Michele BonDurant's one person show, Viewed and Constructed, contains her paintings and collages with oils on canvas, linen, paper and yupo. The Opening is tonight 6-9 pm at The Dutoit Gallery, Front Street Warehouse, 1001 E 2nd Street Dayton.

Is it a bug or is it an insect? Find out which is which on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Cedar Bog Nature Preservewhich is between Springfield and Urbana.

Colors of Fall a Farm Walk is Saturday starting at 2:30 p.m.  Hike through golden leaves of yellow and listen to the leaves crunch beneath your feet. Learn all about pumpkins from spring plantings to baking pumpkin seeds. Paint a pumpkin to take home and help feed one of the farm animals a pumpkin for dinner.

The Grand Reopening of the Newly Renovated Hayner Center is on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. They have a fine art exhibit so you can meet the artists, enjoy some refreshments, listen to the Hayner Center's Assistant Director play the piano. The reception and exhibit have no cost and open to the public.

Do you have a pet that you would like to have blessed? On Sunday, 4-5:30pm The St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oakwood is having the minister bless all the animals on site, as well as those beloved pets you want to remember with photographs. Please bring a donated food item which will be for the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. There will be food, music and games on the green!
