What's Great in Dayton: November 11 - 17, 2016

If you like to buy some used books with great bargains then The Book Fairis available today, Saturday and Sunday.  This is in the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in the Coliseum.

Tonight at 7:30 p.m. the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center will present a special Veterans Day showing of the 1950 musical comedy, At War With the Army. There is no charge and open to the public and it includes an introduction to the film, café style seating, popcorn and soft drinks.

If you like hiking with your pup then join Kyle Adams, Dog Behavior Consultant with Captain Spish for an in-depth dogs on the trail training workshop. Better understand dog behavior while hiking, leash etiquette and socialization, pet safety, and maneuvering while on the trail. Following the Training, put your newfound skills to work as you and the pups go on a hike through the Glen Helen. This is Saturday at 11am.

On Sunday at The Dayton International Peace Museum from 2-4 they are having an opening and presentation about the 1958 peaceful protest. This is by the family sailing into the Pacific nuclear testing zone to protest the use of nuclear weapons and the unknown dangers of radiation on people and the environment. The exhibit features original artifacts, photographs, and manuscripts from the trip.
