Did you know the average dairy cow produces six gallons of milk a day? And that it takes on average 345 squirts to get a gallon of milk? On Saturday starting at 2:30 at Aullwood, you can learn how to properly milk a cow and test it on a life-like dairy cow, Daisy.

This Monday is Memorial Day to honor the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. At the Dayton National Cemetery (which is with the Veteran’s Affairs on West Third Street) at 11:00am Congressman Mike Turner will be the keynote speaker. And at 2:00 pm at the Woodland Cemetery, there will be a variety of activities to recognize and honor our vets.

Memorial Day is celebrated every year on the final Monday of May, and was formally known as Decoration Day. It originated after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the Civil War.
