What's Great in Dayton: May 19 - 25, 2017

Hamvention

Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy. There’s a gambler, his girlfriend who laments that they've been engaged for 14 years and a lot of other characters! Victoria Theatre, tonight and Saturday at 2 and 8.

The World's Largest Convention of Amateur Radio Operators which we know as Hamvention is this weekend. Nearly 25,000 attendees from all over the world are expected. The Flea Market and the Exhibit Hours are today Saturday  and Sunday.

This is A World A'Fair’s 44th year of showcasing and celebrating the different cultures that have made the Dayton area what it is today.

The Downtown Dayton Housing Tour will be from 1-5 pm on Saturday. You can start at any location. Walk or bike to each destination, or use the complimentary shuttle.

The Oakwood Historical Society are having their  Taste of Wine and Cheese on Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Long-Romspert Homestead House Museum in Oakwood. You can enjoy self-guided tours of the home, grounds and gardens or just unwind on the front porch.

Musica will celebrate choral music from American composers and sing folk songs and spirituals from around the country. This is Saturday, 7:00pm; Sunday, 3:00pm. Fairmont Presbyterian Church.

On Sunday you can go to Front Street and shop for antiques and collectibles, artisans and crafters, handmade and homemade, recycled and up-cycled, cottage industry packaged foods, baked goods, live music and food trucks. Come for the market, stay for the art! Come for the art, stay for the market! This is 11 AM - 4 PM.
