What's Great in Dayton: March 4 - 10, 2016

Tonight it is First Friday in downtown Dayton….lots going on between 5 to 10 pm.

And there are two special art displays tonight. One is at DVAC  and it features the work of 31 college and university art and design students from across the region. The opening reception is from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.

The other special new art exhibit is The DIG: Gem City Art Excavation. Join for a night of art extravaganza with other Front Street galleries and Artist Studios. This is at Front Street Warehouse.

The Junior Leaguers Club of Dayton are sponsoring a film on Saturday at noon at the Neon Movies.  It is a classic underdog sports story about an Ugandan Little League team.  It has the audience displaying a wide range of emotions as the team makes history as the first African team hosted by the Little League World Series.

On Saturday in Oakwood the Wright Public Library will showcase local writing talent at their Author Fair from 2 to 4pm. More than a dozen local authors of fiction, nonfiction and poetry will be talking with the public and selling their wares in the front reading rooms of Wright Library.

And Wednesday, March 9, in the evening PechaKucha Dayton is having their event at 444 East 2nd Street. They are calling it “There’s a whole city waiting to be hacked.”
