The Carillon Park Rail Festival is this weekend

Tonight at 7pm Five faculty members from the Wright State Environmental Sciences program will lead a public hike through Glen Helen Nature Preserve. You will discover the uniqueness of Glen's biosphere and hydrosphere while exploring human impacts on the ecosystem. With the changing climate, "Water, Earth, Biota," was a call to bring public awareness and scientific research to the nature preserve.

Wright Dunbarand the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park will host a celebration in honor of the birth date of renowned poet Paul Laurence Dunbar. This free, family-friendly event will take place Saturday, from 1 to 5  in Dayton's historic Wright Dunbar neighborhood.

The Carillon Park Rail Festival is Saturday and Sunday at the Carillon Historical Park. This is the 10th annual Rail Festival. Join them for: miniature train rides, live steam engines, model train displays, historical displays, fun for all ages.

The Keeping the Tradition Pow Wow is Saturday and Sunday. For American Indians, Pow Wow is a special time to reflect upon a rich heritage. All come into the Pow Wow circle with honor and respect for one another and the drum.

When a troubled Brooklyn teenager Yolanda is sent to live with her church-going grandmother down South, she finds healing in the personal stories of the ladies of the congregation and the hats that adorn their heads. Through time and space, their intimate histories create a soulful, joyous triumph of song, dance, culture and glorious "hattitude."  This is a powerhouse gospel musical like no other. I saw this play last week and it is a great one! It wraps up this Sunday.
