The Springfield Symphony Orchestra celebrates the 100th birthday of composer, conductor, and educator Leonard Bernstein with excerpts from his signature creation, West Side Story. The second part celebrates the Symphony's 75th anniversary season with some orchestral fireworks. This is tonight, 8pm, Veteran's Park Amphitheater, in Springfield.

The 13th annual Carillon Park Rail Festival pulls into the station! Miniature train rides; Live steam engines; Model train displays from tiny N-track cars to elaborate G-gauge garden models and unique railroad merchandise. This is Saturday, 9:30am to 5 pm and Sunday, 11am to 4pm at the Carillon Park.
The third annual Try Rowing Olympic Day is Saturday, 9am to 3pm at Eastwood MetroPark Lake. After a brief lesson about rowing, safety, and boats used, you will join experienced rowers and give the sport a try on the lake.
The 30th annual Keeping the Tradition Pow Wow features American Indian music as well as men's and women's dances wearing full regalia. In addition, traditional American Indian arts, crafts, and food is available. This is at Sunwatch on Saturday, 11am to 8:30pm and Sunday, 11am to 5pm.
The African-American Community Fund is now accepting grant applications for its 2018 Grant Cycle from qualified 501(c)(3) organizations in the Dayton and Greater Miami Valley area. The deadline to submit a Letter of Intent is July 27.
