What's Great in Dayton: July 8 - 14, 2016

The Dayton Women's Rights Alliance provide donations of tampons and other feminine hygiene products to women who are homeless. And, their It's That Time of the Month Again benefit is tonight at the Yellow Cab Building, in Dayton. The event features food, raffles, local craft beer on draft and live music. Entry is $5 or the equivalent in tampon/sanitary pad donations.

Everything Fitz is a family band featuring the high-energy fiddling and percussive step dancing of four of Canada's finest young musicians. Their unique stage show has everything from traditional jigs and reels, bluegrass, jazz, Celtic, gospel as well as novelty numbers and dance routines. This is tonight at 7:30 pm in the Downtown Troy Summer Music Series.

Join a seasoned astronomer for an evening stargaze and planet observation. Explore the sky by observing constellations, as well as many planets. This is on Saturday 9pm to midnight in Yellow Springs and it requires registration. Walk-in registration is not permitted for night hikes/observations.

Tuesday, July 12th from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. is a one-day summer book sale at Woodbourne Library in Centerville.  You will get great deals on paperback and hardback books, children's books, as well as a limited number of CD books and movies. All proceeds go to the Friends of Washington-Centerville Public Library.
