What's Great in Dayton: February 10 - 16, 2012

So many things going on….and one is about Paul Laurence Dunbar.

This event is set for Sunday, at 3:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church and they will be featuring “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.” And also Sunday is a Night Story Slam. This slam celebrates love stories for all. You may tell your story as a couple or as an individual…and stories of "love gone wrong" can be interesting but don't be a "Debby Downer." This will be at: ghostlightcoffee.com

Wittenberg is now open at the Dayton Theatre Guild and this has nothing to do with the Wittenberg Tigers at Springfield. This comic fantasy has Prince Hamlet with Dr. Faustus and Martin Luther battling over faith and reason. This is less like university finals and more like spring break.

Inspired in part by the recent discussion in the media of "Tebowing," the Interfaith Forum of Greater Dayton will sponsor four programs on "The Ethics of Prayer - What Can We Pray For?" This Sunday the speaker will be discussing prayers from the Jewish perspective.

And if you want to do a Happy Birthday for Abe Lincoln then on Sunday at 3:00 at the Patterson Homestead, on Brown Street, Mr. Lincoln will share his 203rd favorite birthday memories. lincolnsocietyofdayton.org
