Carriage Hill MetroPark is hosting 19th Century Farming Demonstration: From Sheep to Shawls this weekend

The Comic Book Studio Day is Saturday, from 9am-3:30pm in the Rosewood Arts Center. Learn to write and illustrate like the pros, talk to comic book experts, and enjoy free live demos!

Do you wonder What Good Are Wetlands? Well, on Saturday, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the Cedar Bog Nature Preserve, near Urbana, you can learn about the benefits that wetlands have on our health. The speaker is the Five Rivers Metro Parks conservation director. Please dress for the weather and bring a sack lunch.

19th Century Farming Demonstration: From Sheep to Shawls. Watch as sheep are sheared for the spring at 2pm. Help card wool and watch as fabric is dyed using traditional methods. Hear about the spinning process and factory production of wool. This is Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am-5:00 pm. at the Carriage Hill Metropark.

MONCO is offering Montgomery County residents Secure Document Destruction Service at no cost on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can dispose of personal documents safely and securely, thereby reducing opportunities for identity theft. There is a limit of 10 bags or boxes and no businesses please.

On Tuesday the Mid-Day Arts Cafe are featuring the Stivers Dance Ensemble at 11:30am. This begins with a box lunch provided by Citilites Restaurant & Bar at 11:30 a.m., and the presentation starts promptly at noon and is finished by 1pm.

And The 16th Annual Dayton Jewish Film Fest is happening now. It brings to Dayton the best in Jewish and Israeli cinema, including an international selection of feature and documentary films. Several of these films are at The Neon in downtown Dayton.

Charlie Campbell wants to spread the news of so many wonderful aspects in the greater Dayton area. He is a cheerleader and a real believer that our area is the place to be. He has been active in this area for almost 40 years and you can hear him weekly at WYSO.
