Victoria officials cite Sutton’s “20 years of arts venue management experience”  and his extensive fundraising, marketing and programming knowledge as factors in his selection.

Sutton was chosen after a six-month international search. He is expected to begin in his new position with the theatre association August 13, 2018.

In a statement Wednesday outgoing Victoria Theatre association president Ken Neufeld said he’s “pleased with the selection” of Sutton. He says he’s enjoyed his tenure in Dayton and believes the association remains in “good hands for the future.”

The Victoria Theatre Association oversees a host of local arts programs and venues, including the Victoria Theatre, the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center, and the Metropolitan Arts Center.
