Tech II Incorporated Set to Expand in Springfield

A manufacturing company in Springfield has been approved for $800,000 in state funding to add a new facility. The Ohio Job Creation Credit Tax Loan will bring new jobs and $2.7 5 million of investment money to the city.

The company is called Tech II Incorporated. It supplies packaging to most major food companies such as Nestle, ConAgra and Campbells. The company's new facility will be working on technology brought over from Germany that will help packaged food last longer. Vice President of Sales Eric Shifers says the process cannot be found in this part of the world. He says the new location is a perfect fit for his company.

"This property, being only four miles from our current location, really was ideal. So between the financing and the location it really fit our needs. It was really just a great opportunity for Tech II," says Shifers.

The company was founded in 1969 by Eric's father, Jerry, and currently employs over 300 people. The state funding will allow the company to create 22 jobs and invest money in new machinery and equipment.
