Springfield Group Signs Letter Advocating For Refugees

the front page of the Welcome Springfield website

Citizens with the group Indivisible Springfield say they are concerned with some of President Trump’s actions in his first weeks in office. They’ve teamed up with the nonprofit Welcome Springfield, and plan to send a letter to officialscalling for “bipartisan solutions that honor and respect the needs of the immigrants and refugees who have come to our nation and to Clark County, Ohio.”

Pam Dixon with Indivisible Springfield says its the right thing to do.

“We just think it’s important to give a clear message to our neighbors who are refugees and immigrants that we are supportive and thankful for the gifts they bring and the positive impact they have on our community.”

The groups plan to hold a rally at Springfield’s City Hall Saturday afternoon. Dixon says once all of the signatures for the letter are collected, it will be sent to representative Warren Davidson’s office. Davidson currently holds the 8th district congressional seat formerly held by John Boehner.
