PNC Bank will open its new location in downtown Dayton’s Water Street District Monday.

The regional headquarters will serve as the anchor tenant for the $45 million project.

PNC is relocating from its building on North Main to the top two floors of the new 50,000-square-foot building at the corner of Patterson Boulevard and East Monument Avenue. There also will be a branch in the building’s bottom floor.

The mixed-use development also includes retail space and 215 apartments. The project is part of the Greater Downtown Dayton plan.

Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley says the building’s retail space is nearly full and people have already started signing apartment leases.

“So it just tells you how much this Greater Downtown plan, the interest to live, learn, work and play in our downtown, is something that is really needed,” she said. “Not only for the city of Dayton, but for the region to be successful, to have a strong urban core.”

Whaley says this new headquarters is the first privately-developed office building built in downtown Dayton in more than 20 years.
