Residents of a troubled Miami Township mobile home park are drinking bottled water for a second day after an electrical outage cut water service to the site.
It’s the latest in a string of problems for Pineview Estates. The park is involved in a lawsuit filed earlier this year by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and is being managed by a court-appointed receiver for failing to comply with Ohio Environmental Protection Agency rules.
Ohio EPA spokesperson Dina Pierce says Montgomery County officials are providing Pineview's approximately 230 residents with bottled water while crews work to restore service.
“The county emergency management agency, EMA, they did bring in a bulk water supply, a tank that was brought in for Non-potable uses such as flushing toilets,” she says.
After immediate water service is restored to residents, Pierce says longer-term, court-ordered repairs to the park’s water system will resume.
