Levies on the ballot in several Dayton-area communities would raise funds for law enforcement.
In Jamestown, Issue 6 is a 5.4-mill renewal request for police services. City officials say there would be no increase in taxes if the levy passes on Election Day.
Meanwhile, Beavercreek Township’s Issue 14 is an additional 0.9 mill levy request for police services. That’s a tax increase of more than $31 a year for every $100,000 dollars in property value.
And Issue 44 for voters in Butler Township calls for an additional three-and-a-half mill levy for police services. If passed, the tax increase would amount to nearly $123 a year for every $100,000 in property value.
Finally, the City of Centerville is asking for a half-percent municipal income tax increase for general operating expenses, which would include funds for police, road and street maintenance.
