On Tuesday, Ohio Gov. John Kasich released a nearly $2.4 billion state construction budget. Included in the budget: funding for a host of community, school, park and prison projects. Quick action is expected on the budget bill put out by Kasich and state legislative leaders.

The bill directs $675 million toward primary and secondary schools and $450 million toward public colleges and universities for repairs, renovations and new buildings.

Under the plan, Wright State University would receive almost $15 million for classroom modernization, veterans' programs, human performance research and its creative arts center. A number of other projects will also get funding from the plan.

Sinclair Community College would get almost $8 million dollars for its Life & Sciences Education Center, and the National Unmanned Aerial System Training Center.

In Clark County, over $4 million would be used for energy efficient improvements, the Unmanned Aerial Systems Hanger, and the Community College Performing Arts Center. Other programs benefiting in Clark County are the Gammon House, Springfield’s downtown parking facility and the Food and Bioscience Training Center.

Statewide, $574 million goes for maintenance, renovation and cost-saving projects at state-owned facilities, like parks and prisons.

Local road, bridge, sewer and other infrastructure projects would receive $369 million, with an additional $100 million going to the Clean Ohio green space preservation program.

The administration estimates projects funded under the bill would create 31,000 jobs over several years.

Below are some funding details for Clark, Greene, and Montgomery Counties. Some State agencies are also listed.
