Carillon Park To Hold 75th Easter Sunrise Service

Carillon Historical Park
"As dawn broke on Sunday morning, April 5, the first Easter Service was held at the Deeds Carillon. An estimated crowd of 10,000 made the pilgrimage by automobile, bus and on foot." (April 1942 edition of the NCR Factory News)

On Sunday morning, March 27th, Carillon Historical Park will once again host an Easter Sunrise Service – just as it has for the last 75 years. The anniversary is a special one for the park, known for preserving some of the city’s most important, historical artifacts and history. In this excerpt from WYSO Weekend, Jerry Kenney spoke to Alex Heckman who is the director of education and museum operations for Dayton History.

Carillion’s Easter Sunrise Service is free and open to the public of all faiths—more details on this and the other expansive programs offered at DaytonHistory.org.
