Candlelight Vigil Shows Solidarity With Ferguson

Organizers held a candlelight vigil at the Beavercreek Police Station Tuesday evening to protest Monday’s announcement that a grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri will not indict Darren Wilson. Wilson is a white police officer who shot and killed unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown in a confrontation in the St. Louis outskirt; Brown is African American.

Similarities are being drawn between the Ferguson case and the death of 22-year-old John Crawford III, who was shot by police inside a Beavercreek Walmart in August, just a few days before Brown's death. Crawford was holding an air rifle bb gun sold on Walmart shelves at the time.  The company has since removed the guns from its stock and the case is now being investigated by the federal department of justice.

Approximately 70 people turned out for the peaceful demonstration.
