Tana French returned to the program to talk about her latest Dublin Murder Squad novel "The Trespasser." Last year Tana did an interview for the hardcover release of this book and I could not resist the opportunity to talk to her again because I loved this story and she doesn't put out new books very often.
This series is unusual because each one features a different central protagonist. The protagonists are usually characters who were more peripheral in previous novels. In this one the main character is Detective Antoinette Conway. She's a bit of an outsider-she's not very popular at the moment with her colleagues. As "The Trespasser" opens she and her partner, Stephen Moran, have just been called in to investigate the murder of a lovely young woman who has been found dead in her home.
It appears to probably be an open and shut case, the boyfriend probably did it. Or at least that's what some of her superiors think. Her bosses are eager to close this investigation quickly and call it solved. But Antoinette has other ideas. This psychological thriller is another classic mystery from Tana French.
