Book Nook: The 14th Colony, by Steve Berry

Can you name the original 13 British colonies that then became the United States? Okay, can you name what was once considered to be a potential 14th colony? Did you say Canada? You are well informed. Apparently the US has had designs upon Canada for years and according to Steve Berry those plans to annex Canada continued right up until World War Two.

Berry's series of thrillers that feature Cotton Malone are always based on some historical premise from American history. In his latest "The 14th Colony" that historical fact about our desires to annex Canada are very much an underlying part of the plot.

Fans of this series will expect lots of action. They won't be disappointed with "The 14th Colony." It starts off with Cotton flying over Lake Baikal in Siberia. The Russians down below are not pleased.
