Best of the Book Nook: A Conversation With Virginia Hamilton And Arnold Adoff

In 1996 at the time this interview was recorded Virginia Hamilton was probably the best known author then living in Ohio. I had the opportunity to interview Virginia along with her husband, the poet Arnold Adoff, in conversation together with me. That was a very special day in the Book Nook.

Virginia wrote over 40 books during her long and highly regarded career. She grew up in Yellow Springs in a family that had been in this area for over a century. She met Arnold in New York. In this interview they talk about how they met and how their writing careers developed. Virginia died some years ago. Arnold is still with us and he is as prolific as ever.

The Book Nook on WYSO is presented by the Greene County Public Library with additional support from Washington-Centerville Public Library,  Clark County Public LibraryDayton Metro Library, and Wright Memorial Public Library.
