The modern era of reapportioning state and federal legislative districts began almost exactly a half century ago when the U.S. Supreme Court decided Baker v. Carr (1962).

Peacekeepers coming to Springfield

The city of Springfield is partnering with a national peacekeeping group that specializes in training community members on how to work with police to keep their streets safe.

Springfield is using a program called the Peacekeepers  Global Initiative to make unstable neighborhoods safer by deterring crime and violence.

Peacekeepers was founded by Columbus native Dennis Muhammad and stems from the Islamic faith. The idea is to bring in men from the community to make the streets safe for women, children and seniors.

This whole weekend is the Muse Machine’s musical The Wizard of OZ.This show has all star kids all over the region with true professional Broadway coaches . They’re doing a superb show at the Victoria.

6 Ohio Schools Join Veterans Medical Care Research

     Six universities in Ohio are part of a new national push to boost training and research on military veterans' brain injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder.

     First lady Michelle Obama talked about the initiative Wednesday before a gathering of military members and veterans in Virginia. She said 105 U.S. medical schools and 25 schools of osteopathic medicine are bolstering their efforts to train students in treating brain injuries, PTSD and other mental-health issues affecting service members.
