Ohio Elections Chief Asks End to Flawed-Ballot Order

Ohio's elections chief wants to see a judge's order requiring the state to count certain flawed provisional ballots thrown out.

In a filing Friday, Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted said the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals' ruling last week made the consent decree unnecessary and it should be vacated.

The decree requires election officials to count votes cast provisionally using the last four digits of a voter's Social Security number then made defective by poll worker error.

The October 2012 installment of SOCHE TALKS features Matthew J. Smith from the Wittenberg University on five influential graphic storytellers from Ohio.

The SOCHE Talks are a collaboration with the Southwest Ohio Council for Higher Education. In this monthly series we’ll hear from faculty and staff from areas colleges and universities on a wide variety of subjects. It's an effort to bring Miami Valley research and thinking into the public arena – a way to enlighten the world with local knowledge.

A Night at the Museum at the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park is tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. You will hunt for clues as you encounter costumed characters who will help them in their quest to translate coded messages, find hidden pictures, seek clues to a treasure, and hopefully win a prize! You may also make crafts to take home!

Formerly known as Jesse Remnant and the Trainwrecks, Human Cannonball have been prepping their new album for some time.  This Saturday Let's Be Friends will be available for purchase and the band will celebrate with a release party at Canal Street Tavern.  Human Cannonball made a return visit to the WYSO, nearly 3 and a half years after being one of the first bands to perform live on Kaleidoscope. 

Human Cannonball will celebrate the release of Let's Be Friends on Saturday, October 20 at Canal Street Tavern.
