The July 2011 installment of SOCHE TALKS featuring Tykiah Wright, from Wright State University on The Untapped Workforce of Disabled Graduates.

The SOCHE Talks are a collaboration with the Southwest Ohio Council for Higher Education. In this monthly series we’ll hear from faculty and staff from areas colleges and universities on a wide variety of subjects. It's an effort to bring Miami Valley research and thinking into the public arena – a way to enlighten the world with local knowledge.

Partnerships in Higher Education

June 1st marked the ribbon-cutting for the 711th Human Performance Wing that’s coming to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a result of BRAC. It brings new missions to the base and will strengthen existing ones, which means there’s even more opportunity to strengthen historic partnerships between the base and Wright State University and keep student and faculty research in the Miami Valley well after graduation.  Juliet Fromholt reports on the base’s partnerships in higher education.

Colleges See Positive Aspects To A Bad Economy

It's the first week of school at Wright State University, and Cathy Davis has good reason to believe this year is going to be a busy one.

"We've seen an increase in transfer applications each year, but this year there's been a significant increase in applications we've received," says Davis, the Director of Admissions at Wright State.
