Dana Davidson helped build SUVs at a General Motors plant near Dayton, Ohio for 11 years. Today she's unemployed and the automaker is closing the factory for good in December.
"You know, the people in the plant we look at as family. You build a network with people, you're close to them, you know about their children, their family, you've been to their homes. It's been a rocky road," says Davidson.
Democratic candidate for Ohio's 7th Congressional District race Sharen Neuhardt is accusing State Senator and Republican opponent, Steve Austria, of plagiarism. Austria wrote a column for the Xenia Gazette on Labor Day.
Neuhardt's campaign became aware of the article after an Ohio political blogger posted the column and did a side by side analysis with a Department of Public Labor factsheet on their website, highlighting very similar passages, some even verbatim.
First-time Democratic delegate Jerry Sutton started his journey to Denver back in January of 2008. He participated in a congressional district caucus in the 7th District of Ohio.
"Historically, our perception about what goes on at national conventions is viewed through the soda straw of the TV set, and the commentary that goes along with it. So I wanted to get involved," Sutton said.
Sutton was voted into his position at the caucus in January as a pledged delegate for Hillary Clinton. Each candidate for president receives several delegates, according to Sutton.
