Campaigning together in the swing state of Ohio, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his pick for VP, Paul Ryan laid out their plan for economic recovery. WYSO’s Jerry Kenney reports that part of their plan includes developing domestic energy sources, improving education, and balancing international trade.
Jerry Kenney is in for Emily McCord. In this week's Politics Ohio he speaks with Chris Maloney with the Ohio Romney Campaign about: recent campaign stops for both Mitt Romney and VP pick Paul Ryan, Ryan's addition to the ticket, campaign strategy in the swing state (including pulling in the youth vote), and how the Romney campaign is working to give other Republicans like Josh Mandel (senate candidate) a boost.
Last night, Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan spoke at his alma mater, Miami University in Oxford. As WYSO’s Jerry Kenney reports, Ryan’s status as an alumnus won him a hometown-like reception, but what he had to say also struck a chord with students there.
The presumptive GOP presidential candidate officially announced Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential pick Saturday.
Among those cheering is Tom Zawistowksi, president of the Ohio Liberty Coalition. He says he and his fellow Tea Partiers were surprised at the boldness of the pick, but are pleased because Ryan has aggressively promoted fiscal responsibility and limiting the growth of government. Zawistoski says with Ryan on the ticket those issues are now front and center….even if the plan still needs work.
