In this edition of WYSO Weekend: Rediscovered Radio and Community Voices. Plus we’ll hear about a possible shared space in downtown Dayton that would give residents access to high tech digital equipment, and a documentary film making it’s debut in Dayton next week. See full program details below.

The Montgomery County Bark Park Bake Sale is Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Don't miss this delicious, mouthwatering excuse to support the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center! It is located behind the Animal Resource Center at 6794 Webster Street in Dayton.

Dayton Gay Men's Chorus presents Turn it UP on Saturday at the Victoria Theatre. An entertaining yet thought-provoking expedition through the Dayton Gay Men's Chorus's ten year journey!

The 13th Dayton Jewish International Film Festival is now open and many of them will screen at THE NEON. The line-up looks terrific!

First Friday in downtown Dayton is tonight. Various locations throughout downtown and the Oregon Arts District; 5-10 p.m.  First Friday is a free art hop featuring exhibit openings at the galleries, along with a variety of entertainment options, arts demonstrations, live music and more.

All of us have appreciated the sights, sounds, and smells of Glen Helen….and the wild flowers, raptors, tree frogs, the great blue heron...And almost all poets have nature poems. During this holiday/solstice season those works will be shared, at a poetry reading, "In the Spirit of the Glen," on today from 7-9:00p.m. Vernet Ecological Center at 
405 Corry St in Yellow Springs.

The Dayton International Peace Museum has two events on Sunday.  Their new exhibition, "Peacemakers: Women of Liberia," will open at 12:30 p.m.  It features the work of 2 of our 2012 Nobel Peace Prize laureates and other Liberian women who came together to end Liberia's civil wars.

And the film In the Land of Blood and Honey will be screened by The Neon Movies, at 3 p.m. in partnership with the Peace Museum.

September 28th through the 30th, the LGBT Film Festival returns to the Neon Movie Theater in downtown Dayton.  In this sneak-peek interview, WYSO Weekend host, Jerry Kenney, talks with Jonathan McNeal, film festival curator, and manager of the Neon, about this year's selections.
