Treetop Flyers Live on Excursions

After performing together for four years Treetop Flyers, have just released their debut album Mountain Moves.  The band won the Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent Competition in 2011 and talk about that experience and much more as Sam Beer and Reid Morrison join visit the WYSO studios for an acoustic set on Excursions.

Treetop Flyers will perform at the Rumba Cafe in Columbus on August 27th.

Checking In With Davis Rogan

Crossing the border from Tennessee to Kentucky, Davis Rogan calls in to Excursions to update Niki Dakota ahead of his performance at Canal Street Tavern.  Rogan was in the Dayton area earlier this summer as a solo performer of song and story.  This time, he's back with his band to play New Orleans-style rhythm and blues with their own spin.

Moonlight in Colorado, Johnny Smith Remembered

On June 11, 2013 legendary guitarist Johnny Smith died at the age of 90.  WYSO's own Shakin' Dave Hussong had the opportunity to study with Smith in 1971 and has this remembrance.
