Ohio truly was a battleground this week, as both President Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney visited the state to sell their message to voters. For this weeks PoliticsOhio, Emily McCord speaks to Jessica Wehrman who reports from Washington for the Columbus Dispatch about what both men hope to convey during their time in Ohio and what the political landscape current is in the state.

Ellen Belcher, who's filling in for Emily McCord, interviews former U.S. Sen. George Voinovich. A self-proclaimed "deficit hawk," Voinovich is still preaching that the country needs to both cut spending and raise taxes. He has endorsed Republican Mitt Romney even though Romney supports extending the Bush tax cuts that Voinovich says are so unaffordable. Voinovich explains that contradiction. He also talks about the U.S. Senate race between Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown and state Republican Treasurer Josh Mandel, a contest that is tightening according to the latest polls.
