Clark County's new amateur minor league baseball team, the Champion City Kings, will open its season Wednesday night at Carleton Davidson Stadium in Springfield against the Chillicothe Paints. The franchise is expected to pump more than $2 million into the local economy.
Springfield resident and former pro player Rick White is the general manager of the Kings. He says the Champion City Kings will offer fans a good time that's not hard on the wallet.
The Dayton Dragons held a Meet the Players event on Wednesday. The Dragons will open their season today and look to continue their record for selling out home games this year.
The Dragons are the Class A minor league team affiliated with the Cincinnati Reds. Last year, the team broke the record for consecutive sellouts at home games which had stood at 814. Dayton is now over the 900 consecutive game sellout mark.
Tom Nichols of the Dayton Dragons says the team won several awards last year and the Dragons will continue to build on that success this season.
