After several years and several albums, Yellow Springs band Wheels is saying farewell for the time being its members head off to work, school and travel. Having performed on the air many times throughout the years, the members of Wheels stopped by the WYSO studios ahead of their perform at Canal Street Tavern for some live music and spoke with Excursions host Niki Dakota about what's next for each of them.

The Giant Steps have stayed true to their name. In a few years the group won Canal Street Tavern's Dayton Band Playoffs, produced their Transitions album and continued their careers as students. The band visited the WYSO studios ahead of a performance at Canal Street Tavern and shared live music and conversion with Excursions host Niki Dakota.
Nasty Bingo made a return visit to the WYSO studios, and this time they brought the whole band. The six-piece played an electric set and chatted with Kaleidoscope host Juliet Fromholt about upcoming shows, future plans and honing their cross-genre sound with a variety of players.
Nasty Bingo will perform with the Tecumseh Barnstormers Saturday, August 17 at One Eyed Jacks in Fairborn.
After Tony Herdman's band competed in Canal Street Tavern's Dayton Band Playoffs, they wanted to thank the fans that came out and supported them throughout the competition. So they decided to host an evening of food and music outdoors, and Hog Jam was born. Over the past 8 years, the event has grown into a two day music festival with a growing lineup and audience.
After a year of recording and getting out on the road, New Vega is ready to share their latest full-length album, Exit Ocean. Members of the band visited the WYSO studios to talk about the recording process, the release party and future plans.
