The Repeating Arms Live on Kaleidoscope

The Repeating Arms

The members of the Repeating Arms had toyed around with the idea of forming a band many years ago, but within the last year they began getting together to play together and developed their sound into something more acoustic and string-based.  The band recently completed their debut EP and visited the WYSO studio to share both live and recorded material and talk about their plans for the rest of the year.

The Repeating Arms will celebrate the release of their debut EP, on Saturday, March 16th at Canal Street Tavern.  They'll be joined onstage by The New Old-Fashioned ad Kris N.

Steve Makofka Live on Kaleidoscope

Playing the accordion runs in the Makofka family, but it took a 60th birthday present for his father for Steve Makofka to take up the instrument.  Already an accomplished vocalist, pianist and guitar player, Makofka found that the accordion has opened several new musical doors and exposed him to many different players within the Dayton music scene.

Steve Makofka visited the WYSO studios to perform live accompanied by Todd the Fox and spoke about his musical journey so far and where he'd like to head.

Speaking Suns on Excursions 3/11/2013

Speaking sons is one of six bands that will appearing at 8pm on Saturday, March 16th during Antistoch: a benefit for WYSO 91.3fm. The event will take place at The Glen Helen Building located at 405/505 Corry St. in Yellow Springs. All Proceeds from the event will go to support WYSO.

Speaking Suns are Jacob Diebold, Sam Compston, David Byrne, and Graham King. The band got their start around 3 years ago in Yellow Springs, OH.

Adelee & Gentry Live on Kaleidoscope

Adelee and Gentry Gates

Adelee and Gentry Gates began making music together at home, but these days the sisters are getting out and about playing regionally and recording in Nashville.  With their debut full-length album and a holiday EP released in 2012, the young duo is already writing and preparing to record more material, including a brand new single.  Adelee & Gentry visited the WYSO studios to perform live and talk about their musical journey so far and where they're headed in 2013.

Adelee & Gentry will perform at the BellHOP Cafe in Bellbrook on April 19th.
