After spending time in the studio over UD's winter break, the members of the Leap Years make a return visit to Kaleidoscope to share new live music and talk about the development of their new EP. The band chats with host Juliet Fromholt about its first studio experience, the forthcoming EP and an upcoming performance at the Dayton Does Dayton Music Festival.

After signing to Dayton-based Misra Records in 2013, The Motel Beds are now ready to release their first album for the label, These are the Days Gone by. It's a sampling of singles, EP tracks and rarities from the band's first ten years re-mastered and with additional bass parts from Tod Weidner. Members of the Motel Beds visited the WYSO studios for a live set ahead of the album release party and talked about revisiting their old material, working with We Care Arts on 500 limited edition covers and what the new year holds for the band.
When Joe Anderl was approached by NFL films about having his band, The 1984 Draft, featured in a documentary about the real 1984 NFL Draft, he thought his friends were playing a joke on him. But soon, Anderl, an avid Nebraska football fan, and the band learned that the offer was indeed serious, and this weekend a camera crew from NFL films will visit Dayton to interview the band and get footage of their live performance at Blind Bob's. Kaleidsocope host Juliet Fromholt spoke with Anderl about the news.
After a year of Go With the Flow performances accompanying yoga with live music, Ben Rivet is preparing for new material for his other musical endeavor, BJSR. Rivet returned to the WYSO studios for an acoustic set and shared "A," the first single from a forthcoming album. The music video for "A," shot in 4k high resolution, will be unveiled at a special event at Hanson Audio Video on January 31st.
