GemFest is a day-long festival of art, music and resources to benefit GLSEN Greater Dayton.  Two of the bands involved, Evil Eye Gypsy and A Shade of Red gave a musical preview of the event live on Kaleidoscope and the organizers chatted with host Juliet Fromholt about the cause GemFest benefits.

GemFest is Saturday, October 3rd at the Yellow Cab in downtown Dayton.

Mark Becknell is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who performs with several regional bands.  His latest solo release is Like The Vine.  Becknell visited the WYSO for a live set on Kaleidoscope and talked about writing, recording and more with host Juliet Fromholt.

Gran Bel Fisher return to the WYSO studios in the midst of their latest tour in support of Yokefellow, their new album.  The duo performed live on Excursions and talked to Niki Dakota about their latest album, their travels and more.

Todd the Fox made a return visit to the WYSO studios ahead of his appearance at the 2015 WYSO Community Concert.  Joined by Queen Victoria and Alan Frazier, Todd the Fox gave a musical preview live on Excursions and talked with WYSO Music Director Niki Dakota about what he's been up to musically.

In its 11th year, Dayton Music Fest has grown into the Dayton Music, Art and Film Festival with music, both local and national at its core.  Organizers and musicians including Gladgirl Shelly, Good Luck Year (who performed a live set in the studio), Good English and the Motel Beds visited the WYSO studio for a preview this year's festivities.

Trey Stone made a return visit to the WYSO studios ahead of his appearance at the 2015 WYSO Community Concert.  Joined by The Septemberists, who he'll join on stage for a very special interlude performance before his own band Trey Stone and the Ringers take the stage, Stone chatted with Niki Dakota about his latest release and upcoming live shows.

Washington DC's Tomas Pagan Motta's latest, self-released album is Up and Away.  His first tour stop in support of the album was the WYSO Studios ahead of a gig in Yellow Springs where he chatted with Excursions fill-in host Tod Weidner about his musical roots and performed live on the air. 

Tomas Pagan Motta will perform at the Spirited Goat in Yellow Springs on September 4th.

As Cyclops Festival prepares to celebrate its fifth year of handmade culture in Yellow Springs, OH several of its musical performers visited the WYSO studios for a preview on Kaleidoscope.  Harold Hensley of The Repeating Arms performed an acoustic set, members of Skratchmatik did two DJs live on the air and festival co-organizer Brian Johnson talked about what's new at this year's event.

The 2015 Cyclops Festival is Saturday, September 12th at the John Bryan Center in Yellow Springs.
