Katrina Eresman of Strangewave performing live on Kaleidoscope

J. Trenton Crace and Katrina Eresman were both writing songs separately when they decided to try their hand at collaboration and with that, the seeds of Strangewave were sown. The band recently released its debut album, Pop Noir and is gearing up for more recording and live performances. Strangewave visited the WYSO studios for a live performance on Kaleidoscope and spoke with host Juliet Fromholt about recording Pop Noir and what the future holds.
After years of performing solo, Steve Gregory is now playing with a full band. The whole group visited the WYSO studios for a live set and spoke with Niki Dakota about musical roots and writing and performing as a group.

Previously performing as a trio, Cincinnati's Hickory Robot has been a quartet since 2011. Last fall the band released sophomore album, Sawyer and has been keeping busy since then performing regionally including opening for Dr. Ralph Stanley. Hickory Robot visited the WYSO studios for a live set on Excursions and chatted with Niki Dakota about Sawyer and upcoming performances.

Mike Liorti of Rosedale performing live on Excursions

Performing under the name Rosedale as an homage to a street in his home town, Mike Liorti has been making a life in music, finding friends and collaborators along the road. Rosedale is currently touring with Cincinnati's Alex Baker. Baker will release a full length album on September 22nd. Rosedale and Alex Baker visisted the WYSO studios for an acoustic set on Kaleidoscope and chatted with Juliet Fromholt about their musical roots and how they began performing together.
Saturday evening at Canal Street Tavern marks Peace, Love and Pits, a benefit show put on by local band Gathering Mercury. Funds raised will benefit the Miami Valley Pit Crew, a nonprofit devoted to rescue and fostering dogs, in particular "Bully" breeds. Gathering Mercury's Ashley Stacy made a return visit to the WYSO studios for an acoustic preview with Niki Dakota.
