Having performed on Kaleidoscope several years ago under the name Honeymoon, Jonathan Hape, Andy Foster and Nick Baker made a return visit the to WYSO studios, performing under their new name, Room and Board. The trio spoke with host Juliet Fromholt about their self-titled album, future plans and finding new energy in their new identity.
On Friday afternoon, Excursions got a visit from an exciting new singer-songwriter, Willy Mason. Mason and friends have been opening for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros in between stops on the Gentlemen of the Road tour headlined by Mumford and Sons. Fresh off their converted little yellow schoolbus, Mason and longtime friend and bandmate Nina Violet gave a preview of what listeners should expect to hear at their performance this evening at the Gentlemen of the Road stopover in Troy, OH.
Seefari has been a known name in the Dayton music scene for many years performing their own twist on classic style reggae. The band visited the WYSO studios ahead of the Dayton Reggae Fest performance for a live set on Kaleidoscope. They spoke with host Juliet Fromholt about writing, recording and what coming months hold for them.

Since releasing their self-titled full-length album and its accompanying comic book, Red Hot Rebellion has been keeping busy touring, visiting comic book conventions and preparing their new EP, Melt the Sky. The band made a return visit to the WYSO studios to perform like on Kaleidoscope and spoke with Juliet Fromholt about writing songs, licensing their music for television, future plans and much more.
Red Hot Rebellion celebrates the release of Melt the Sky on August 24 at Cincinnati's Mainstay Rock Bar and in Dayton on August 31st at Blind Bob's.
