Dayton International Festival

A World A’Fair is celebrating its 44th year in 2017. The annual event is a celebration of "the different cultures that have made the Dayton area what it is today."  There are 32 countries or ethnicities taking part in the all-weekend event, which has become one of the city's biggest festivals.

In this WYSO Weekend excerpt, Dayton International Festival Treasurer, Wayne Gulden, talks about the work that Miami Valley residents put into the cultural festival.

Miami County is preparing for a major tour stop by UK folk stars Mumford and Sons this weekend. The city of Troy, population 25,000, is anticipating an influx of 40,000 people and at least $12 million in new revenues for the region.

By Wednesday, downtown Troy was already overrun with semi trucks, workers, and, believe it or not, mustaches. Inside Hittle’s Jewelry, owner Jenny Nimer showed off her display of mustachioed jewelry, complete with what she called “bling.”
