Thrash About Dayton. 11/26/2012.

On this months segment of Thrash About Dayton, music and arts writer for the Dayton Daily News, Don Thrasher, talked about the Xenia, OH based band, The New Old-Fashioned. Their Debut album will be released on December 7th, 2012 at Canal Street Tavern during their CD release party. Special guests will include Tim Pritchard and The Boxcar Suite, and Absinthe Junk from Nasville, TN.

Jerri Stanard talks about K-12 Gallery in Dayton

Jerri Stanard, founder of the K-12 Gallery stopped by the WYSO studios to talk about the gallery and art.  The 6,000 sq ft., decorated building is located at 510 E. 3rd St. in Dayton. The school teaches art to children of all ages as well as adults. Stanard also hosts art competitions for different age grounds

Jerri got her start as an art teacher in 1993 when she helped out with a children's art event which saw around 150 people. Now, almost 20 years later, she has taught numerous children of all ages how to create art with different materials.

The Footmen Live on Excursions

On November 9th, 2012, WYSO welcomed Jason and Jerry from the band The Footmen into the studio live on Excursions. The band consists of the two brothers, Jason and Jerry, and a madolin player, Chris McFadden. While in the studio, they performed their songs "Bright Eyes," "American Spirit," "Runaway American Train," and "Bitter Rhapsody."
