A new independent poll finds Herman Cain surging and leading other contenders in Ohio for the Republican presidential nomination. That SAME poll, though, finds none of the G O P hopefuls strong enough to beat President Obama right now. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen has the numbers.

DAYTON- A group that wants to legalize medical marijuana in Ohio has turned in more than 2,100 petition signatures in a first step toward putting the measure before voters.

The Dayton Daily News reports a proposed summary of the ballot language must be approved before additional signatures are collected.

Supporters of the measure need more than 385,000 to place what's called the "Ohio Alternative Treatment Amendment" on the November 2012 ballot.

PATASKALA, OH - Former U.S. Sen. George Voinovich is among nearly three dozen Ohio officials who are throwing their support behind Republican presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney.

Romney's campaign released a list on Wednesday of Ohioans backing his bid for presidency in 2012 as the GOP front-runner visited the state. The list consisted of state senators, state representatives and several mayors. Other supporters included state and county Republican Party officials.
